My name is Echo Talc. Who am I? I am nobody. Just another one of those random girls you pass in the hallway. It is the first day of junior year at my high school and there's a new kid here. He doesn't tell anyone where he came from or who he really is. Although I am nobody, he stoops down at my locker to help me pick up my spilled supplies and have a word. When I look into his eyes, I know he is not normal. There is no such thing as normal, but this boy shouldn't be here. He doesn't leave me alone. Not the next day or the day after that. He pays no attention to the pretty girls or hang out with the sporty guys. Other people fling themselves at him, but he ignores them. They are invisible to him, but I am not. Why me? I'm just the nerd in the corner! But I know one thing. I can see something about him no else can see. The fire in his eyes.
