A coming of age story.

Slow at first but gets better as it progresses. Jason's parents abandoned him at the age of 14 on a lone highway and left to Mexico without him ( obviously ). Trying to get back home he begins to walk down the lone highway, which turns out to be interstate 80. Suffering from dehydration, he becomes disoriented and wanders off towards the middle of the road where he's nearly ran over by Tanner's family who were returning from a road trip to California. They take him in as one of their own. But they soon lose the house they were living in, and bad luck falls upon them when a old hag, curses the family. Although the hag didn't say exactly what the curse was, Tanner's family flees due to their superstitious background. And now Jason and Tanner have to start a new year at a new highschool.
