Dan Howell is a timid boy, who always does as he is told. He was once friends with Phil Lester, the 'bad influence' who soon ditches Dan for the popular group in Year 7. After five years of not talking to each other, they're partnered in a project and Phil's wants to win Dan over just like he has with most of their year. But yet, Dan is determined to find out what Phil is hiding behind his arrogant mask.

*In the process of being edited, first two chapters done already.* Dan and Phil met in the looming forest behind the school grounds and have been infatuated with each other ever since. With many twists and turns, their stories are becoming more complex by the second. They say a smile can save someone, but what if it killed them instead? *This story is not in any way based on events that have occurred in either Dan or Phil's past, and is completely fictional. Phan is also claimed to not be real.*

Dan Howell is an insomniac....who's scared of the dark. Only a little bit. One late night (or early morning), he decides to venture out and explore London at its quietest. He meets Phil Lester at an all-night coffee shop, and the two quickly become friends. As the friendship continues to grow, Dan has to begin facing his issues, and his feelings for Phil.

Phil doesn't have a best friend in his life. That is, until Dan turns up at his school. They become close and Phil finds out that Dan has a twin brother, but hates to talk about him. It's not until Phil comes over to Dan's house that he finds out why.

Part 1 of the infamous series. Feelings appear. Sparks fly. Love rises. Problems occur. Please note: This story is now very old (7 years old in 2020) and I'd like to think my writing has improved since then! Phil was mute. He had been since he was 13 after he'd been bullied and picked on at his old school. It first started with he didn't talk to people at school. Then his family. Then no one ever. His mum thought it best to switch Phil to a different school. New school, new people, new chances. But no one could have knew what would happen when Dan Howell walked into his life.
