The dialogue ma'am and nothing but the dialogue. So, the other day I was cleaning the house and while doing so my mind wandered (as it often does) and I came up with the idea to start a book with short stories only comprised of dialogue -- no description. Occasionally, I may add a cast if the mood strikes me, but that's as descriptive as I'll get. I hope these aren't confusing and hope ya'll like them. Share your thoughts with me if you will ;) And if you have any ideas, feel free to give 'em to me and I'll see if I can write a dialogue only story around 'em.

I say it all the time. I mutter it under my breath as I sweep their discarded takeaway boxes off the front step and follow their trail of spit to the overflowing dustbins. I say it as I turn the volume up of the television to mask the techno beat throbbing through the thin wooden walls. It’s never enough to fully blot out their voices spouting monotone bullshit over the top of it. They think one hour in a recording studio would make them famous but I bet they can’t even spell their own names. I’ll kill ‘em, I say, as I clamber over the dozens of bikes that block my door and are now locked in a grimy battle of spokes and handlebars.

Spray Painted Bananas is a romantic comedy about Amber, a broke temp working in a catering firm in London, who after one too many evenings scrounging free wine from wacky art gallery openings with her best friend Farrell, decides there’s no reason she can’t become a conceptual artist herself. A chance meeting with the wealthy, young art curator, Elliott Frinton-Smith, sets things off in a desirable direction. Now all Amber needs is a brilliant idea to grab the attention of the nation. Spray Painted Bananas explores love and ambition with the touch of the absurd and plenty of bananas. It is OUT NOW published under the title THE TEMP by Harper Collins.

Boy likes girl, girl likes boy. But girl's dog hates boy's guts... (I put out a lot of old short stories I wrote in the 1990's in pairs, which are available free for most e-reading devices (with the exception of Amazon, where a couple still cost a buck). Ergo, they are billed as "free pairs of my old shorts." This particular one is from "Eddie's Shorts - Volume 3," hope it is enjoyed). :-)
