But even whistling down the street can prove fatal as the government fights to keep the public happy and music-free. Aria Sangster plays guitar and piano and sings and writes songs. She and her friends keep their secret of song under wraps by whatever means necessary until they see the expressionless society they are forced to grow up in. Aria is soon torn between giving her fellow citizens something she would rather die than live without and protecting everyone she loves. She must ask herself: what is worse: treason against her government or against herself?
