Dan Howell has made many mistakes in life, the first of which was being born to Aphrodite (or maybe just being born at all, in his uncle's opinion). It's never made much sense that he was the son of the goddess of love, seeing as he didn't even believe in it. Still, maybe there's time for his mind to be changed when he finds himself going on a quest to retrieve his mother's "Cupid's bow" with Phil Lester, son of Ares. Mark has always hated Valentine's Day. He always seems to spend it alone year after year... but when Mark is prompted into seeking out a fortune teller, he receives a little help. Mark doesn't believe in such silly things as a love potion... but what has he got to lose? All he has to do is follow the rules and be careful. That doesn't seem to be too hard... until a single mistake turns Jack from friend to lover. Mark now has to act fast to find the antidote, before Jack becomes a victim of Love Potion Number 9.

Dan Howell is the Panther. He's evil, nefarious, ingenious, and good at coming up with adjectives for himself. The Raven is a nuisance, but he's definitely the most fun part when it comes to being a villain. As a child, Dan had been scared of his powers. He'd been weak. He'd become strong, though. Strong enough to torment the city; strong enough to annoy the Raven with every opportunity he got. Phil Lester only had one goal these days. To become strong enough to defeat the Panther. Mark has always been a peasant. He was born in a thatch-roofed house to two farmers who work the field every single day, making just enough to get by. Nothing was special about the Fischbach family. But when a bad growing season turns a poor situation into a dire one, there's only so much you can do before you have to turn against the law. Getting caught wasn't part of the plan. Getting thrown in the king's dungeon for multiple accounts of theft to save his family from starvation was not part of the plan. Out of all things, Mark had never expected to be brought in by King Seán himself and told that he has a secret that even HE didn't know about.
