The day my life changed was the day I was shot. Or maybe it was the day I woke up sometime after being shot. While it could've been a day like any other, I just had to walk to work because the weather was just so nice. And of course I had to play hero when I saw a man threatening a woman with a gun. So that's how I ended up coming to on the street covered in my own dried blood which, as you can imagine, caused quite the scene with everyone I walked past on my way home. It was this concern for my well being that led a do-gooder to touch my shoulder. I didn't know what I was doing. I didn't have control over it. I guess it doesn't matter. Either way, I turned that lady to metal. Everything but her eyes. Her eyes were the window to the life draining out of her as the metal washed over her. I'll never forget that final look.
