To the outside world, Charlotte Wellbourn is a simple girl. Polite, quiet, perhaps a little too pensive for her own good, but a sweet, simple girl. To Charlotte herself, she's so much more than Charlotte. Everyday, she feels the compulsions of a thousand different characters, good, bad, beautiful, cruel; and one day, determined to break away from a cycle of simplicity, Charlotte decides to follow them, wherever they take her.

A young, handsome man was once, long ago, damaged by a great loss. He lost the ability to see in colour, and has since been plagued by dreams of the colours he once knew. When, one day, he regains the ability to see the colour red, he becomes obsessed with blood, and begins to take lives in pursuit of his lust for it, but is interrupted when he falls in love with a beautiful woman. Will love save him on his journey into insanity, or will he fall into an abyss of crimson madness.
