When Vienna dreamed of her future as an artist, she didn’t imagine being the starving kind but life hasn’t quite turned out as she envisaged it. Stuck in a dead-end job and living with her sworn-enemy-turned-best-friend isn’t where she thought she’d be at 23: adulthood isn’t turning out quite as she planned. It doesn’t help that she has her mother breathing down her neck, forcing her to jump through life’s hoops. When a serendipitous meeting comes her way, she has a choice to make and a risk to take: she can play it safe and keep painting by numbers or she can begin a new canvas and risk losing everything to find the joy her life is sorely missing. The natural reaction is to do what any struggling artist would: Vienna quits her job, the only safety net she has, to pursue her dream.

Jess Knight likes her freedom. Despite being in jail for about sixty-five percent of her teenage life, she is in complete control. But there's only one problem: she doesn't know her purpose. One day, everything changes. Her reputation as the youngest and most connected solo street criminal gets her noticed by the illustrious crime society known as the Maryland Mafia, who offer her the deal she literally can't refuse. That same day, Jess is arrested by a junior officer at the downtown precinct. Something about Nick Bronson transforms the way Jess sees the world and she can't let him go. But is dating a cop the wisest move for a teenage criminal about to commit the dirtiest crime there is? One thing's for sure; life as a jailbird isn't always as free as it seems. AUTHOR'S NOTE: This story is one I've been writing on and off between the Rouge series, and I wanted to share it with you guys. It's a bit rough and still not completely finished, but I felt guilty for delaying Consuming Fire. What's it really about? Think Veronica Mars and the PCH Bikers, only instead of following the law, Jess breaks it. Cover by Isabella Modra

Haley has social anxiety. After taking a year out of the education system to be home-schooled, she's back as a junior. While she's not ready to take on the world as one might expect, she - at least - wants a fresh start. She knows that she's not the prettiest girl at her new school and by no means popular. Her life takes an unexpected turn when her sister winds up in hospital with an injury that not even the doctors can fix. Will Haley make it to the end of the year without the support of her older sister to show her the way? A Wattpad Featured Story Teen Fiction: #52 Finished: 14/12/13 Edited: 23/12/14 Featured: 22/4/15
