When Lisa Dumont travels down to New Orleans to stay with her mother for the summer, she finds herself entangled in a web of century-long territorial disputes between undead and supernatural forces. For @ScienceFiction 's Anniversary Challenge, we had to produce a 10K story. PROMPT: 'Inhabitants of Earth must take to the stars in order for the human race to survive. To remain would involve certain extinction. Where they go, what they encounter on the way, who and what they find at their destination is entirely up to you!' For this one I took a nostalgic approach, and went with some World War II alternate history! Ultimately, I tried to pay homage to one of Science Fiction's greats, Phillip K. Dick.
