It's the year of 1992 and Aaliyah will be 17 soon, all she wants to do is leave her home which is full of broken promises, negativity and abuse. She's such a smart girl full of potential and big dreams, but her environment is no good for her it's toxic and is tearing her down, but she has a friend named Keith who is always there to brighten her day and motivate her, but things are coming along and slowly tearing them apart. Aaliyah is so needy for love and affection and it's making her slowly fall for the wrong person.

In 2001 , A African American/Puerto Rican young boy by the name of Elijah Chance Smith has a happy young life as a young boy should until his families life begins to go downhill. His father becomes short on money and loses his job. which leads to his father to completly change and become Abusive to Elijah and his mother Monica later murdering her. The only people that bring smile on Elijah's face is his mother and his great friend Ryann next door who sadly is forced to move to Atlanta, Georgia because her fathers job. At a young age Elijah gets the best gift he could ask for a baby sister. Further in the story he discovers new people and possibly a secret relative.
