TheRemnant Plot Summary After a failed suicide attempt, Shikauhno Lee (age 16) moves back to her birthplace, Ryojima, Japan. Soon upon her arrival, she learns of the mysterious deaths and disappearances plaguing the city known as Black Onda; also rumored to be supernatural causes. Subsequently, she ends up crossing paths with a man who is reported missing. Despite their identical appearance he denies being the missing person and pursues Shikauhno with one goal: to rip her heart out. Suddenly, a mystifying man brandishing a guitar as a weapon comes to Shikauhno's rescue by vanquishing the man and leaves her with a short yet cryptic message, "Let the dead bury their own."
