Coming from a poor French Canadian family in Lowell Massachusetts, Jack Kerouac had big dreams of being a writer. Nothing else mattered more than his writing and he pursued it with passion and determination, eventually developing his own unique style.
However, while on this pursuit Kerouac had ups and downs, using drugs and drinking heavily, partying far more often than he should, leaving two failed marriages in his wake and a daughter he never claimed, Jack's life was far from perfect, but he kept on pushing to reach his dream of success.
But, when he finally attained it, he realized just how bittersweet it truly was.
In this short biography I trace Jack's life from his time in Lowell until his final years in Florida, from his first meeting with Neal Cassady to his writing sprint with On The Road, his fascination with Buddhism and his devotion to his Christian faith.
Kerouac was a legendary writer, but he was also a man with his own flaws, imperfections, and loveable qualities.
This is his story.
