He puts out the cigarette in the tray and I notice cuts on his wrists. I don't know if I should ask him or not. If I do, I know he'll get defensive, but if I don't I'll be wishing I did. He catches me staring and moves his bracelets to cover them up. "It's nothing, okay?" He gets up and throws the ashes out the window into a couple bushes. I don't know what to do, so I walk over to him and wrap my arms around his back. "Get off me, freak!" He throws my arms off and turns to me. "Ashton, it's okay...I have them, too." Carmen is tired of being depressed, alone, left out, or at least until a new kid moves in across the street.
