"You're a good girl, do you know that?" He exhaled deeply with a disbelieving smile, pulling me to lie next to him. "Which is probably why I find you so hot. Those innocent eyes, fuck. I was done for. I always have been." "You don't mean that." I laughed, clambering beneath the sheets. "Ah, always so skeptical. But I mean it, your eyes are it for me. This magical emerald green that shines in the sunlight, and almost changes colour when you're talking about something you love. Like that fucking creative writing class you take with George. Your eyes, they shimmer and it's weird as shit but I love it. They remind me of the first day of spring, the sort of green that emerges from a really shit winter. The green that reminds you that everything is growing, and you're growing, and you're alive. That is what I love about your eyes." Matty half laughed to himself, climbing in after me. He cupped my cheek, stroking slightly with his thumb. "That and they look amazing when you're giving head." "Stop!" I laughed, batting him away. He pulled me in closer however, close enough so that my head was forced to rest on his chest and I could hear the steady beat of his heart. "It's true. Nothing like these old boring brown eyes of mine." "Boring? Nothing about you is boring." I whispered, tracing the lines of his chest tattoo. "How so?" -------- Avery Collins, an 18 year old university student, has her world turned upside down by the arrival of a boy with messy hair, chocolate eyes and a past full of dark secrets. Juggling a social life, her insane room mates, uni studies and work, will she be able to cope with this boy and the realisation that maybe, just maybe, he was more dangerous than he looked? Elizabeth was wading through pretty rocky waters, and so was Matty. “In tragedy and despair, when an endless night seems to have fallen, hope can be found in the realization that the companion of night is not another night, that the companion of night is day, that darkness always gives way to light, and that death rules only half of creation, life the other half.” ― Dean Koontz, Lightning. If there’s one thing that Elizabeth Frost knows, it’s that life is hard. With a mum who walked out on her at the age of seven, making way for a fairy-tale like, cruel step-mum and a father that did nothing to ease her pain, Elizabeth was thrown into a deep, dark void of loneliness. Now at sixteen, Elizabeth lives in a state of hopelessness. And then one day, without any warning, she is forced to leave, with only a one-way ticket to London as a parting gift. This broken shell of a girl has no clue what to do, and she feels completely alone; no light shines in her dark life. But what she is about to find out, is that everything has a companion, strong to weak, brave to scared and even dark to light, and Elizabeth might just have found her ‘light’ in the form of a brown haired, hazel eyed boy named Matty. Apart they are nothing, but together they begin to learn that they are strong enough to hold their heads up high, brave enough to conquer the world and eventually they learn to love as much as two unloved creatures could; unequivocally, passionately and recklessly.

"Tell me something about you, Lace." "I don't like when you call me that." He raised his eyebrows, smirking at her attitude, "Why?" "Because it doesn't suit me," She shrugged, "I'm not seductive or even interesting in that matter. I'm just plain and simple, nothing special - certainly nothing like lace." He immediately stopped walking, which caused her to stop too since their hands were still holding onto each other. Looking her straight in the eyes, he shook his head, "You're fucking hot, Lacey. All whilst looking classy as shit. You're everything like lace."

It was pity that first made Dannie speak to him. She had known Ryan since she was a kid, but he had always been the popular Golden Boy, and she had always been the tomboy that didn’t mind not having any friends. It was odd, she had thought, that all the popular kids who had once kissed the ground he walked on, didn’t so much spared him a glance anymore, and it was this that made her sit with him that one faithful day and begin something that would only end up causing her pain.

Summer Jacobs knew full well about her town’s tradition. Every year at the end of the summer, a party would be held on school grounds without the knowledge of the parents or the teachers. It had been happening since before Summer was born and never once was anyone the wiser. This year however, everyone was going to find out. Summer had planned a weekend of alcohol, bad decisions and horrendous photo’s which she would later un-tag herself from on Facebook. A whole weekend with her friends at the biggest party of the year, without any worries or parents telling her what to do. So how she ended up trapped in the school with a deranged psycho killing her classmates off one by one, she will never know. It wouldn’t have been as bad if she was trapped on her own. She would have been happier to face the lunatic solo rather than be trapped with a guy who kept using the life or death situation to make passes at her. His theory was being so close to death should definitely loosen her up, and by ‘loosen up’ he definitely meant ‘get naked.’ Along with his friends who between them had the IQ of a baby tree stump, an outcast who probably still had Spiderman bed sheets and the cheerleaders who were more worried about all the blood staining their new white jeans, they had to somehow make it out of there alive. And to think, Summer’s biggest worry that weekend was waking up with a brutal hangover… ©makeandoffer
