Isabelle's beloved grandfather was ripped away from her when she was six years old. The only remnant of him she has is a Magic 8 Ball she makes all of her decisions with. The Magic 8 Ball leads her to sit with the creative but shy Samina at lunch, and the two form an unexpected friendship. But the course of true friendship never did run smooth, and Samina makes Isabelle question her entire world: her badminton-obsessed family, her role as the ignored middle child, and most of all, whether or not the Magic 8 Ball is really helping Isabelle make the right decisions.
