Kathy Gilcoin is a genetic mutation; a girl with red hair and violet eyes. And on top of that, she is colour blind. Kathy has gone through 15 years of her life and has never even reported her mother's abuse to her. With a dead father and very few friends, there are not many people you can turn to in this world of hatred and sorrow. But with the help of the voices in her head, and one lonely boy who feels just the same, she learns the ups and downs of life- which eventually lead to a not-so-happy ending.
