Charlie thinks she is a straight girl who has never really had a real relationship and has thrown herself into work ignoring attention from everyone. Until she meets Gem. There is something about her one time student she cannot get enough of, she is torn between what she knows and is and the scary excitement of something new. Gem is a newly qualified nurse on ward 36 which is always full of drama and excitement. Pursuing her old mentor Gem struggles through her first year of nursing while hoping that Charlie will notice her as more then just the student she once taught.
