"Who was that?" I paused a little. Contemplating what to answer to that question. I regret so many things in life. I'm the type of person who makes decision based on what's best for everyone. I don't even consider my own happiness. One of my regrets was never recognizing my feelings towards him. He gave me his best. His everything. His time. He gave me space. And all I did back then was hurt him. "Was that your ex?" We were never in a relationship. I can't call him my ex-lover. He was never an ex. We had no label. We only had feelings for each other. He was very vocal with his. While I was keeping it all to myself. And I regret keeping it all in. He was the best maybe I had. The best halfway in my life. Even though we ended like that, I still treasure what we had. Some believe that soulmates last forever when you're together til the end. But, in my case, I believe that some soulmates still last forever even when your story ended halfway. He'll be forever my best halfway.
