Adrien Agreste is the son of an American fashion designer forced to marry a spoiled haughty French girl named Chloé Bourgeois. For the wedding, they are travelling back to France aboard the RMS Lusitania. Also on board is third class passenger Marinette Cheng, a Chinese artist who falls in love with and meets Adrien, opening his eyes to a world beyond the confines of Adrien's upper class life.
