What would have happened if Katniss didn't take Prim's spot in The Hunger Games? Would anything be any different? Would a new story unfold? This is my version. *WARNING: Things have been changed. Don't say I didn't warn you.*

Aloe Mellark is the daughter to Katniss and Peeta. With her 12th birthday nearing and the Hunger Games soon after the family is on edge. Though it is only her first time to the reaping Katniss and Peeta feel that the odds may be rigged and President Snow may finally have his chance to make them pay for the havock they caused all those years ago. Just as they predicted Aloe was chosen as a tribute for District 12 but so is her old brother River. This time only one will be a champion, the question is who?

Katniss's POV I walk quietly as I I walk through the woods. Things have been weird here lately. Haymitch, who is now raising geese, decides that he wants to go to the Capitol. My guess is a affect from all the drinks he's had. Then Peeta, who has been acting a little too nice to me lately. You have to admit that's pretty weird. So to gets away from all that, I decide to go hunting. I've done good so far. I've got 2 rabbits, one deer, and 3 fish. I don't see anything else for about 10 minutes, and decide to head back before it gets dark. Once I'm back, nobody is outside, which isn't strange, but still. I hear Haymitch screaming viciously, so I decide to go. I see Peeta, against the wall, looking quite scared. The next thing I know, I'm screaming at Haymitch. " Haymitch, back off! He's your victor, not your screaming dummy!" Haymitch walks out of the room, so I decide to tell Peeta to go home, and that I'll see hime tomorrow.
