Merlin is attacked and won't tell Arthur anything. Arthur likes Merlin, his hand servant for almost 2 years, it breaks his heart to see Merlin this beat up and hurt. Arthur is trying to do whatever he can to forward his relationship with Merlin, while he tries to find out and understand what happened to his brunette servant. Merthur AU (Set around early season 4) Arthur Pendragon is the new king of Camelot having assumed the throne after his father's death at the hands of his sister, Morgana. One day while out on a hunt, a Druid appears, telling him of his destiny; a man named Emrys who resides in Ealdor. The Druid advises the king to seek out the man, for Arthur's destiny cannot begin without him, for he is Morgana's doom. Merlin is a young warlock living in the small farming village of Ealdor. His life is quiet. He spends his days toiling away at the fields with his best friend Will while honing his magical talents with the help of his mentor, Gaius, the physician from Camelot who visits on occasion. When he meets Arthur Pendragon, he can't help but hate the prat. Of course, until he gets to know him better. Meanwhile, Morgana scours the kingdom for the sorcerer Emrys. Desperate to find him before he finds her. When her search leads her towards Ealdor, she's surprised to find Arthur there, and with a scrawny peasant boy no less. As their paths cross in the usually uneventful village, it becomes a race between the son and daughter of Uther Pendragon to either save or destroy Emrys.

Winter falls on Camelot. It falls to Merlin to keep Arthur company as the search for Morgana becomes increasingly desperate. 6000 words, Merlin/Arthur. Set in the break between series 2 & 3. I had to make a judgement call on whether we’re dealing with Yule or Christmas in this Merlin verse. I went with Yule (there was reasoning, but I won’t bore you with it). After Freya's death Merlin thinks he'll never find love again. But he couldn't be more wrong. As Arthur tries to cheer up his manservant they both discover something. (Set in present time) Merlin pulled his bulky warm coat around him as the autumn wind whipped around him, slicing through his clothes like daggers. Red and orange leaves littered the ground, staining the green grass in the park. He didn't know why he was at the park at seven o clock in the morning but he woke up in a sweat, terrified from a nightmare he couldn't remember, and had a sudden...urge?... To go to the park.

Merlin and Arthur finally admit their love to each other! But after a drink-filled night out, Arthur does something that Merlin could not forgive. Hi! Arthur didn't die in the last episode of merlin, Merlin managed to save him and get him back to Camelot. However, Merlin has feelings for Arthur, so strong that he struggles to hide it. But Arthur has his own problems and his own broken heart that maybe even Merlin can't heal.

Merlin is tired of Arthur constantly torturing and using him. It's his turn.
