Daiha Smith has everything, or, so it seems. Her dad received a promotion, and with that promotion, her family seemed to gain everything. But Daiha lost a lot in the process. Her parents are never home anymore, her sister cares more about her friends than her family, and Daiha has yet to escape the cruel remarks, evil stares, and just the mean girls at school. It seems to her that nobody cares about her anymore... Will somebody notice the self harm, the anorexia, before its too late? WARNING: triggers throughout the novel Please read with a grain of salt. This was written when I was 14, and needs extreme editing. 2014 © ele0411. What would you do if everyone just disappeared? And I mean everyone. Your family, your friends, your neighbours, just gone. Poof, like that. Unfortunately for Emily Richardson, this impossibility became a reality. Imagine waking up one day to see every live human being was no longer present. All their belongings left behind, untouched. Cars stranded, their owners abandoning them. All without a reason. Without an explanation. Or that's what Emily thought. This is a story about a lost girl and her poorly named dog, on a search. For anything. Anyone. And what they discover may be worse than they imagined.

I was never meant to leave that room. I had spent my whole life in there, imagining what it was like on the outside. I looked forward to the day when I would finally be allowed to leave. But that day was never supposed to come. Until James decided to keep his promise. He had always been there, on the other side of the glass. Waiting. The experiment wasn't over. He was still waiting for me to change. But I didn't change. Not until that night. It was dark, and there was rain. The sound of the car engine was loud, but the crash was louder. In the crash, I became something different. I changed. But not for James. This new part of me emerged for one reason; to save her. This story is a first draft and will contain typos and grammatical errors. I apologize for these in advance, and hope you can see beyond them to the story beneath. Happy reading!
