I sat on the edge of my cold bathtub holding a face towel in my left hand. All I could think about was 'Why me..' why did this have to happen to me..' I let the tears silently fall down my face. I felt the warmth of the tears trickle down my cheek and onto my hand. I took the now cool face towel that contained my blood and went over to rinse it out in the sink. I turned on the water to warm and rang the towel out a couple times until I had enough courage to look at my face in the mirror. 'It's not that bad this time. It's not that bad .' I squeezed my eyes shut before I opened them. What I saw next in the mirror brought the tears back to my eyes I was scared to leave till finally i got the courage to try. I was running down the flight if stairs till I bumped into someone. Their arms caught me and I felt secure and safe. Not the arms of the monster that once said he loves me and beat me to a pulp.
