Kaye McDowell has spent most of her life trying to leave, or actually leaving, the tiny Maine island she grew up on. For her, the island is marred by tragedy, and always will be. Even sticking around for her best friend, Andy Carrillo, doesn't make much sense anymore. She wishes they were more than friends; he doesn't. Then, after Kaye gets her dream job as a photojournalist in Boston, Andy comes to visit. Just Andy. In her tiny studio apartment. For an entire weekend. And Kaye starts to wonder if he wishes they were more than friends, too. But even if he does, there's so much to overcome: distance, shared grief, and most of all, the fear that comes from putting a lifelong friendship on the line. **** This is a companion short story to Set Me Free and includes LOTS of spoilers for Set Me Free. It also includes a lot of Kaye obsessing over Andy's tattoos (which are awesome), kissing in a shrubbery, and ridiculous pubs. #TeamKandy Buy links! https://www.londonsetterby.com/if-i-stay.html (FYI the ebook version includes the mature scene)

[Winning book for the Wattys4 December monthly contest. Reviewed by @LDCrichton: "I forgot I was reading a contest entry this one is so good."] Which emotion is the most powerful? The optimists will say that it's love while the pessimists will argue that it's sadness. Sarah William fell into the pessimist category and not without reason. After losing the love of her life, she starts to slowly spiral into depression. So maybe, sadness really is the most powerful thing that human beings can feel. But maybe not. After crossing paths with Joey Harding, she's forced to think otherwise. Maybe the strongest emotion is the last thing that was left in Pandora's box: the little glowing ball of hope. But there's always the danger of that little light flickering unexpectedly and it could go out just as suddenly as it came, leaving everything in complete darkness.

Happy Pride Month everybody! Last year we all stood proudly as gay marriage was finally legalized in all 50 states within the US, but this year let's stand and remember all four corners of the world where we are still a far cry from actual acceptance . In this issue of The Safe Zone magazine, we discuss what it means to be gay in an illegal world. The devastating effects of a world where being free to love whomever you wish is still not a part of the constitution. Ryan takes us through the journey of coming out; a struggle many of us have faced or are still yet to face and because we know this is a life long journey we take an educational look at different genders and sexuality within the community. Also, look out for our monthly competition and all the amazing campaigns we will be featuring and interviewing throughout the month of June. Stand gay and proud! Note: This issue was published fairly late this month, but we will get the next issue up promptly at the beginning of July. Thank you for your cooperation!

A fabled wall, marking the territory of the werewolves and adorned with the severed skull of a once great alpha, stands between Natalya and her prey. When she finds the body of Anesa, her beloved mentor, she is determined to hunt down the vampire responsible. Crossing the border into Claw Haven to follow him is sacrilege though, and the undead werewolves whose skeletal bodies wane and wax with the moon are more terrifying than the vampire she seeks. But there she meets Voren, a werewolf who is a living contradiction to everything she has been led to believe. Her journey into the lives of the pack entwines her and Voren's fates with that of a master vampire's: Arkadith. Defeating him may lift Voren's curse and bring peace to Valwood and Claw Haven, but Arkadith is determined to bring an end to this vampire huntress as well...
