This is my first short story, based off of the video game Fallout: New Vegas. It follows the story of a young man named Xander Mason who is an NCR Ranger. Enjoy, and please leave feedback.

"Aye, the better question is what isn't troubling me," I mutter gloomily. Before the kind Bosmer can respond, his rude Nordic friend interrupts. "You look like you just crawled out of a cemetery. Are you sure you aren't one of those draugr come back to life?" He laughs and claps the Bosmer on the back heartily. A humorless smile plays on my lips, "Don't worry, friend." I put extra venom into the word 'friend.' "I've been dead far too long to come back to life." ••• Winter Iron-heart is a Stormcloak soldier with a heavy weight on her shoulders. She carries the burdens of guilt, sorrow, and regret. After helping the Stormcloaks to victory, she should be happy. Relieved. Joyous, even. But Winter can't forgive Ulfric, her fellow soldiers, or herself. Herself especially.

He managed his family of four, including himself, his mother, and his two brothers, ever since his father was slaughtered by a group of deathclaws when Simon was seven. Simon was out hunting when hell broke loose. Caesar's Legion ambushed the town and took the residents to The Fort, including Simon's family. Now, he must fight for his life and many others.
