Maybe a few minuscule pieces of rock would fall from the sky, so we should stay indoors. That was fine. School was cancelled, and so we all got to stay home and watch as the sky turned red and pieces of rock made tiny indents in the road. Stores shut down. Flights were cancelled. Driving became hazardous and the government finally banned it all together. Traveling basically became illegal. None of that mattered to us. We had built a cellar deep underground, for fun of course. But, hey, why shouldn't we use it? A two week vacation in a hole in the ground sounds awesome when it's just you and your friends. Your friends, except one, who you may like a little more than that. It was all a joke. Until the cellar started shaking and we were stuck down there an extra five days. When the shaking did stop, and when when we came out, the world was not the same. He blew out a little bit of air through his nose and smiled, "Touché." "And I'm not mysterious." I added. He tapped on my own mask, "Who are you then?" I swatted away his hand. "And if you're not mysterious," he continued, "then what are you?" I rolled my eyes, "I'm a runaway princess from the land of far away." I put a finger to my lips, "But shh, it's a secret." He chuckled lightly. "You didn't answer my question. I kept my mouth shut and didn't say anything. He honestly can't be serious. There's no way that I going to tell him something like that. Like dude, seriously? "You know," he said casually, interrupting my thoughts, "Secrets don't make friends."

Maxx is just a regular man, working for the Time Keeping Agency. It is the year 2431, and the public release date of the government's long-coveted time travel technology is just around the corner. All is going well, until one day Maxx starts noticing things that no one else does. Or rather, remembering things. As the days go by, his version of reality grows farther and farther from the one accepted by society. Even worse, no one will believe Maxx when he tells them of the terrible things that he remembers.
