Meg Ross wanted to be a doctor. As a senior in college, recently accepted into med school, it appeared as if her dream was going to become a reality. That is, until she decided to freefall off a twelve-story building in the middle of the night. When Meg wakes up the next morning in a hospital bed inexplicably alive, the questioning begins. Now, plagued with recurring dreams and the badgering of her mandatory psychiatrist, Meg appears to have lost touch with reality. When her issues finally come to a head, Meg will have to face a larger challenge than she ever imagined.

Empress of the Sea is the third book in The Lake Stone Trilogy, but it can also stand alone. "There is much more to life than a crown, and that is why I brought you here." Elesa has always expected to take the throne when she turns eighteen. It was always something she knew would happen. To her, life was clear and simple; listen to her parents and the officials. But when her cousin comes into the picture, she realizes that she could lose everything. Now it occurs to her that she might have to do more than simply listen to what everyone tells her. Elesa must act if she wishes to be empress. With the growing suspicion that her father is going to offer her cousin the crown, she decides to show him that she is ready and able to ascend the throne. To do so she offers to lead the upcoming expedition to the mysterious island off the coast of Tria. Her father agrees, but Elesa has no understanding of what she is getting herself into.

The Blue Desert is the second book in The Lake Stone Trilogy. "Everyone deserves a home where they have someone that they love with them." Valhanan is the eldest daughter of Eada and the king of Vasda. Since before her birth, she was promised in marriage to the general of her father's army. Only when she turns fifteen does she learn of it. No matter how much she and her mother beg King Spyre to break the engagement, he will not. In an effort to hide from the arrangement, Valhanan retreats into the comforting stories from her childhood. She always dreamed of travelling to visit Tria, the land of her mother's stories, but she knew it was impractical. That is, until her mother gives her a chance to escape the engagement. Anan must travel out of Vasda; must leave her home forever to find a safe haven in the palace of Tria with Eada's brother the emperor. But ever since the king of Vasda betrayed the emperor, there has been no contact between the two countries. Could they ever believe that Anan is the daughter of their beloved empress? And even if they could, would they ever accept her?

Due to the king's infamous temper, she knows she must tread carefully. However, since this marriage would never have been her choice, Eada has no interest in the king. He is determined to change that. As time passes, she realizes the gods are against her when things begin to unravel, and she discovers that she's not the only one in danger.
