I thought Thor hit the back of my head with his hammer. The first hit, I felt my skull shattered. The second hit was worse. The third left me unconscious. Luckily, my husband decided to walk the dogs with me that cold November 22nd morning. The paramedics arrived quickly and I was in surgery within an hour. Blackout. Ambulance. Paramedics unzipped my winter jacket and paused. I was wearing my bra over my shirt. Well, I get sweaty under my boobies. He cut both bra and shirt with scissors. Blackout. MRI. Blackout. Anesthesia. Surgery. Coma. Aneurysms kill people 30% instantly, 30% die in the ambulance and another 30% die during surgery. The survival percentile is only 10%. Will I survive this? Will I be the same again?

June 28, 2019 Since becoming a vegan on February 8, 2019, I have lost a total of 12 kgs. It's been almost five months and I am so proud of myself for sticking to this new lifestyle. My husband, family members and friends tease me a lot. My husband was so sure I will eat meat during my eight-day vacation in Manila and I proved him wrong. I rarely wear dresses and skirts because my legs are so fat but I feel more confident now that I have lost weight. I have never lost this much weight in a span of five months. I was a miserable omnivore for 43 years. I owe my health and mental transformation from the documentary What the Health and to all the vegan videos on Youtube. I am so grateful for Netflix. I am so thankful for What the Health. I was completely ignorant about animal cruelty and speciesism. How can I love my dogs and eat animals? Too much pain and violence result to my addiction to animal products. My body suffered too much bad karma for my ignorance. The journey to self-forgiveness takes time. I repent, I make amends to my soul and body every day. It is better late than never. I hope I can inspire you to consider going vegan or even eat less animal products to save yourself, save the environment and save millions of animals who DO NOT DESERVE TO DIE. #govegan

Betinna is looking for her dog on the beach when she sees a creature buried in the sand. Find out what question the creature asks Betinna. Here is my entry to the National Geographic's #PlanetOrPlastic Writing Contest. This is an allegory of my environmental awareness, negligence and lack of consistency. I promise to do more for our environment because I love my dogs. They are my children and they play a huge part of my future. I promise to bring an eco bag with me at all times and a metal tumbler. Here in Korea, banks, post offices and cellphone retail stores have water dispensers. I can just walk in to refill my tumbler with hot or cold water. What can you promise to save our planet?

Videos of a real mermaid spotted in South Korea have gone viral. The same mermaid appeared in Scotland speaking of the exact same message. Find out what she said in the videos. Here is my second entry to the National Geographic's #PlanetOrPlastic Writing Contest. There is a statue of a mermaid on the rocky beach of Dongbaek Island in Busan, South Korea. I have seen the statue four times and every time I see it, I feel sadness. When I stare at the mermaid's statue, I imagine the her coming to life and talking to me. I imagine it telling me why she is sad. My story is inspired by that mermaid's sadness.
