Darkness. That's all I could see around me, that's all I could feel. Then all of a sudden images flash before me, like pictures being posted on a bulletin. Fire, explosion, remains and ruins. Then the next images are what haunt me the most. People lying around, blood running from their heads and noses. Broken arms, snapped necks, missing limbs. But the scariest and worst picture, was that of my parents lying side by side. All of these images kept flashing in front of me, even if I tried to turn around-they were still right in front of me. I shut my eyes really tight and scream at the horror I could escape, then suddenly I hear shouting and open my eyes back up. I couldn't see where the shouting was coming from, but then suddenly the building I'm in creaks and groans. I gulp and try to move, but I'm frozen on spot, my feet won't move like I'm telling them to. Suddenly as I look up, the ceiling creaks. "No!!!" I scream, just as the ceiling falls. A figure falling it, making me want to scream even more. ~ Sadie has been taken, but by who? "Stop it." She whispered her eyes looking down toward her hands. "Stop what?" I asked as I took another step close and leaned against the wall, towering over her. "This-this game," she stuttered then looked up at me fiercely."This is all a game to you, that's why they call you a player." she said, her voice throaty but stern as she back away from me. “If I’m a player, why did I do _____ then?” (no spoilers! lol) "I d-don't know," she started to backtrack. "You're the one who's playing the games, you tell me how it works into it. Probably something so I would be more accepting towards you." She spouted, confusion still on her face. "We're in college, don't you think I have better things to do then scheming about getting you to accept me?" I quirked and eyebrow at her. "You tell me." She shrugged, shaking her head at me before turning to walk away. "You don't know me," I called out in frustration. She turned on her heal, though stayed in place. "I know plenty about you. I heard everything back in high school, I saw most of it, and I know it's the exact same thing as what you are doing here." She ground through her teeth. "Which is what exactly?" I persisted. "Playing with any and every girl you can get your hands on." Without another word, she turned once more and retreated. I wanted to call out to her, tell her she was wrong, that she didn't know what I was really doing. Though, she was partially right about one thing, I've dated many girls. I haven't slept with any of them though, I've barely even kissed them, most of them would initiate the kiss in the first place. But she was wrong about the reasons. I'm no player, and this is no game. This is missing her. © Copy righted 2014 (Book 4 in The Fighter series)

Some of the words she hates include economy class, second-hand clothes, and budget. She likes fashion, dating, not being on time and getting what she wants - until she meets Sean, who is like the clock striking midnight; he erases all her magic power. He is as mature and sophisticated as the dark roasted coffee he drinks, while she is like a lollipop: colorful, dazzling on the outside but empty calories and artificial sweeteners on the inside. The attraction is instant, but getting a kiss is only the first step. To keep their fire burning, they must accept each other's differences and decide if what they're building is strong enough to survive trials, jealousy, expectations, and the fear of becoming someone they no longer recognize.

"You're afraid of temptation." He said pinning me to the wall. "No, I'm not." I snapped at him. Who am I kidding? Yes, I am. He leaned closer nearly brushing his lips against mine. My breath caught in my throat and he grinned. "Your breath and your pulse give you away, Barbie." He said not pulling away. "I think you're scared you'll get hurt and you don't want any commitments. You don't take chances." "I'm a cheerleader...I take chances all the time." I pointed out shifting and accidently brushed my hips against his. This time I heard his breath catch in his throat. Now I smiled. "Who's tempted now?" "I'm always tempted." He whispered in my ear. There was a moment of silence where we just looked in each other's eyes before I whispered to him again. "Tempt me." He leaned forward crushing his lips to mine pulling me closer by my waist as my fingers got caught in his hair. He knows how to tempt people. ** Sage moves to a new town and tries out for the cheerleading team and everything seems to be going fine. Until she meets Aaron the hot bad boy of the school.
