*****WATTYS 2015 WINNER!***** WATTPAD STAFF PICK (9/7/15) In the end, the robots win. But you already knew that. "Everyone Died + My iPhone Stopped Working" is a collection of short interviews with some of the survivors. People who have tremendous insight into the rise of Artificially Intelligent machines or, more often, don't. Why did the robots rise up? What did they want? Why couldn't they be stopped? Can they be stopped now? Is humanity doomed? And what the f--k is going on with the squirrels? You will get the answers to all of these questions. Or some of these questions. Or none of these questions. We'll see. I will be updating this once a week until I run out of stuff that I find funny. Then I'm done. "10,000 dollars for my arrest. That's what the media says, anyway." He calls her Rusty. She calls him Blue. But Anna Blake is hiding more behind her nickname than anyone knows. She's wanted by the police. For murder. Specifically, the murder of her parents. And she has bigger issues to worry about. She's also on the run from the man who really killed them. A man who has a game to play before he kills her, too. A reckless, on-the-edge criminal. A winsome, small town boy who has a traumatic past of his own. A thrilling chase that changes both of their lives. They are both lost in their own ways, but together maybe they can stand strong again. But secrets have a way of getting out, and the truth is enough to drown her. So for now, she's just going to have to hold her breath. ~~~~~~~ Best ranking: #2 in Mystery/Thriller (8.20.16) [EDITED] [Completed] Copyright © 2016 Kelli Crockett ~~~~~~~ Reader Comments: "I literally live every day to read a couple more chapters of this book! Six teens are devoted to a game with one rule: If a player gets tagged, they must change their life within the next fifteen minutes. The better the player, the bigger the change. One might give their car away, or punch the school bully. Another might change identities or sacrifice their virginity. Anything to keep evolving, to avoid fitting into a label or caring about the junk they own. But their quest for enlightenment has taken a rotten final turn - one of the players has murdered the game's creator, the teen prophet (cult leader?) David Bloom. Our narrator is being framed for the crime; can he clear his name and discover which of his lifelong friends is the murderer before he takes the fall? [sic] is a gritty teen murder mystery that delves into the psychology of enlightenment among the criminally dysfunctional.
