How does one feel with a heart sheathed in cold metal?

Velvet's life has been tragic ever since her parents died. She thinks nobody cares, and nothing matters anymore. But what if there's someone who really does, but she's just too numb to feel it? And what if that someone is also too foolish to admit it? Will they be able to see beyond their hearts? Or will they be forever drowned with their own feelings?
