"Clarke's Third Law states that any sufficiently advanced technology is indistinguishable from magic." In the distant future the Earth can no longer support life, but not to worry, the human race is prepared. Various companies work together to train agents who seek out other planets via teleportation, searching for resources and allies in the universe. Working as a Subterfuge, Teagan Clarke's job is to observe, gathering information and blending in to ascertain if a planet provides anything of use and if the people there would even be willing to trade. But when the teleportation machine breaks just as she's making a jump, Teagan finds herself stranded on the wrong planet with no way to return home or even let them know she's alive. Luckily for her, she has found a world where magic is very real and could possibly imitate the same technology that sent her astray, but the one person who may have the power to help her is so unstable he could just as easily get her killed. And his brother is no treat either. [A CampNaNoWriMo project, parts to be posted every Wednesday. Please remember that this is a work in progress.] [Disclaimer: When referring directly to Clarke's Third Law I am referencing the work of writer and futurist, Arthur C Clarke. I take no credit for his work or the discovery of this theory.]
