However now they have been living a care free life in a big family home and everything had been running smoothly. that is until a mister Dean and Sam Winchester move to Kansas and turns the Novaks world upsidedown. The alarm shrills at the teen laying in his bed curled over his head to wake up. He roles over in his bed ignoring the beeping, as he tries to get back to sleep to keep enjoying his dream. This night he dreamed of a handsome stranger but the more he thinks about it something about him was familiar. Finally Castiel decided he should get up and get dressed and tries to think about what it could have been he recognized about the boy in his dream. His voice? no we didn't even talk, but Castiel did remember his laugh, it sounded like he was an angel. But once Castiel looks up he realizes, his eyes! His eyes were a bright green, the most beautiful green Castiel had ever seen. Castiel gets dressed in his usual outfit, dark pants with a white button up and a blue tie.

When the two boys meet it opens up a new world for them both to explore. For Dean, it shows him that there is more to life than just the way of society and the future. For Castiel, he learns what it actually means to care about someone and how hard the real world can be.

Sam and Dean have never met anyone as unique as Castiel. The kid wearing a trench coat in the middle of summer introduced himself the day they moved in, and all three of them became instant friends. Then Dean and Cas start spending a lot of time together and Sam finds himself excluded. He doesn't blame Dean at first; it must be hard being fifteen and never setting down roots long enough to make lasting friendships. But as time goes on and he sees less of Dean and Cas, Sam realizes it's even harder being eleven. Originally written on September 16, 2010 for the Secret Angels IV fic exchange, for recipient "writingpathways." I combined two requested prompts -- AU where there is no supernatural and Dean/Cas have been best friends forever, and Sam POV of the evolution of Dean and Castiel's relationship.
