Kirsten Anderson is a rookie police officer who is trying to solve an impossibly difficult case. This story is a written record of the first file in the audio files of Nadine Rose Amore, a girl living in the unusual little town of Fantasma Cove. It is home to overlooked enigmas, like the Eyeless Man in the abandoned warehouse, Marigold Mandelin and her prophesying birds, and the self-proclaimed "grass magician" known as the Lawn Doctor. As Nadine talks of her day to day life, she humorously jaunts through peculiar happenings and abnormal situations. She describes the unusual habits of her fellow townspeople and things none of them ever thought to question, beginning to question them herself. As more events begin to unravel with Nadine in the thick of them, her memoirs paint the picture of a town much stranger and more dangerous than she could have imagined.
