Adam (12) has to be the adult in his family. His dad, Schmidt (40, though he claims to be 30) is very immature, as are his sisters. Their mom, Cece, disappeared shortly after giving birth to Maxine (at 33). Jaden (18) and Maxine (5) are annoying as hell. Then again, so is their dad.
