Every girl is wondering about two things: 1. What do I want to do with my life? 2. What kind of person do I want to marry? So I traveled around the world looking for answers. Five men, three continents, one prophecy... And an appearance on Chinese reality TV. I thought fairy tales only existed in leather-bound books... Until the phone rang... This is a true story.

30 Before 30. Thirty days in Europe. Thirty inspired moments of adventure to live it up before my 30th birthday. Just the idea of it gave me purpose. Here was a reminder that I could choose a new path, even if it was only for 30 days. A little background first. Ten years ago, if you had told me that at 29, a normal week for me would be taking Sienna Miller out for a night on the town, going to see an NBA Lakers game across the court from Jack Nicholson, and taking a celebrity-filled private jet to Vegas for a Maroon 5 concert, I would have laughed and said, “Order me another shot, crazypants”— of course, secretly hoping you were right.

After spending a year teaching in Thailand, I longed to travel with only my quirky self to keep me company. My journey started in Myanmar where temple cycles and village treks exposed me to the past and present of this intriguing nation. I returned to Northern Thailand for a volunteer experience and some of the most ingenious and adrenaline-pumping New Year's celebrations. Indonesia's smiling faces warmed my heart and even coaxed me out on a date or two. Join in if you've ever wanted to experience the beauty of a volcanic sunrise, the joy of Javanese hospitality or the thrill of a five-day water festival where joining a water war is as easy as saying 'Sawatdee!' or 'Hello' for my English readers.

Wayward: Fetching Tales from a Year on the Road is a hilarious and heartfelt ride around the world, wherein the author eats dog, obsesses about chewing gum, gets stranded on an island, does dirty things, reveres rock n roll and muses about everything from death to Star Trek to the President Obama to jail time. Now available on Wattpad, Wayward has been a surprise hit at both iTunes and Amazon, reaching #1 on both retailers' travel charts. It chronicles a year in the life of the author, who lived in 12 countries over 12 months, one month at a time. It's kind of funny, kind of sad and kind of weird. Forbes describes the book: "Wayward isn’t strictly a travelogue or a guide by any means. The book reads like a diary, with chapters dedicated to everything from watching Obama’s inauguration in an Argentinian bar, to viewing a dubbed version of the newest Star Trek film in France and trying to understand the plot despite not speaking French, to remembering the ecstasy and pain of his first love just before breaking up with his then-boyfriend in Berlin, to eating dog in Vietnam, to his experience working with Patti Smith in New York. Gates’ lively, conversational writing style bring all the disparate pieces together for an engaging, enjoyable read."

I write about New York - and everywhere else. This is a selection of what I call my "little bus stories." I write on the New York City Mass Transit Authority - also known as the MTA, also known as the bus and the subway. My first collection of stories is available at the NY Transit Museum Store, and online at Amazon, Barnes & Noble, and Create Space: "A Marshmallow on the Bus: A Collection of Stories Written on the MTA." My next collection will include many of these Wattpad stories, some new poetry, and, of course, my observation of daily life in the world's most exciting city - New York, New York. It's called "Prayer Beads on the Train: A Collection of Stories Written on the MTA," and it will be out this fall (2014). Thanks for reading my little bus stories! Look for updates and follow me - @nilesite. Anne Born

Scars: Steps To Queenism, is a highly inspirational and authentic story of an innocent child's world growing up; not only as an 80's baby, but having to practically raise herself in the streets of Boston - alone. From having parents and grandparents that suffered extreme drug and alcohol addiction, to losing the woman that raised her; life itself did not seem fair. Imagine, battling depression (due to being a victim of abuse and rape) but yet you must keep it a secret. Too young to fully survive on your own, so you are living in foster and group homes until the system lets you free. Imagine having to break away from a dangerous kidnapping at gun point- her journey is not a path for the weak. After years of physical and emotional SCARS, Nikey embarks a journey to rapport in the midst of an emotionally draining war. Life after ending unhealthy relationships and pain, she finally meets and later marries her King - plus drama. Will she fold under pressure and go back to her old ways or will she handle her new life with ease? My story will help you eliminate your emotional scars and guide you on a journey to mental freedom.

Combining my love of travel, writing and photography, Travel Drabbles is an ongoing collection of bite-sized, visual chapters. The strange love child from when travelogue met poetry. Brace yourself for the good the bad and the ugly, plus the funny bits in between.

Used to be Book of Random Thoughts. May include rants, epiphanies, random song lyrics, quotes, ideas and stuff that happened to me that I wanted to share to the world. Yeah. Now that I think about it, this description is more like a part of this book rather than a description. Sorry, I'm getting off topic here. Read it if you're extremely bored or something. I don't know. Also, enjoy the purposely crappily-drawn children's crayon drawing-inspired cover by me. Are you seriously still reading this description? Well, thank you for letting me waste a few seconds of your life. You get a cookie then. Or maybe ten respect points. Or whatever you want. I don't know. Choose one making you better feeling.
