Little did she know, a lot could happen in one hot summer. * The moment Kara laid her eyes on Ryder, she knew she was a goner. She had never met anyone as sexy, fun, and liberating. But she'd made a promise that she won't give herself away before marriage. The moment Ryder laid his eyes on Kara, he knew his life wouldn't be the same again. He had never met a girl so pure and genuine. He made it his life mission to be with her, for better or for worse. Except, they could never be together; the universe had played a cruel joke on them. The day two celestials collided, an infinite energy lashed out into the universe. It created countless forms of energy, some we could comprehend, and some we could not. Millennias passed by, lifeforms formed, evolved and died. The cycle of life continued the same. Until the day Time was born. It altered the balance of the universe, and suddenly, everything started shifting. Past, future and now, all happened at the same time. We could not comprehend this. But he could. He was everything, every possible timeline, every second passing by, every tomorrow yet to come. He was it. And just as he was time, he was the only one who could keep it in check. While the other Gods were busy with lusting over humans and playing games with each other, he was busy with keeping the balance. That's what his creators had entrusted him with. And if he were to slip, everything would crash. The humans, the gifted yielders, every bit of life in this whole universe and beyond... they would fall. And his brother and sisters would die, or worse, they would send him back to darkness. He did not want to go there, and he wouldn't. In his golden eyes that leaked of time, he knew he would wreak havoc on this Earth and many more before that would happen. But he slipped. And darkness was waiting for him like a pair of glowing eyes in the dark. Hungry.
