Aleisia is zeventien en woont in Femery. Femery is een doodnormaal boerengehucht in Andorsa waar nooit iets gebeurt. Ze heeft haar ouders nooit gekend, maar ze heeft een onbezonnen jeugd gehad in het weeshuis. Iedereen kent elkaar en iedereen weet alles van elkaar, alleen kan niemand haar vertellen wat er met haar familie is gebeurd. Aleisia was een vondeling, ze lag 's ochtends gewoon op de stoep van het weeshuis met een briefje. Niets meer. Op een dag krijgt ze plots visioenen. Ze ziet een jongen, een man al bijna.
