People always say your twenties are for self-discovery. Apparently, mine just involved discovering I'd been stolen. Not metaphorically. Not in the "I lost myself after Chad cheated on me with a yoga instructor named Misty" kind of way. I mean literally. Baby-napped. Illegally acquired. Ripped from one family and gift-wrapped into another, without so much as a receipt. Of course, I didn't know that then. Back then, I was still the same girl who thought her biggest problem was forgetting her reusable grocery bags. Who believed her mother's anxiety and her father's long silences were just quirks, not the weight of a lie pressing on their chests for twenty-four years. And yes, there's a guy. There's always a guy. But everything I thought I knew about love, family, and who I am got shattered into a thousand tiny pieces-each one sharp enough to draw blood. - Note: Theo James likeness is used only for name and appearance but this is not a fanfiction more like an AU TRIGGER WARNINGS: explicit sexual content, trauma, depression, self-harm. (Might be more to come as this is a work in progress but will update as I go)

He was a tattoo artist by day, a painter by night. He possessed what is commonly known as an addictive personality. Perhaps inherited. He had always been like that. He liked to ink his body. He liked to coat his lungs in smoke. He craved adrenalin rushes. He certainly enjoyed hot cups of coffee. Oh, and his paintings. No one would ever understand how much he loved to paint. And then, one night, a new sort of addiction walked into his life. One that would be more detrimental than any before, and yet none had seemed quite so captivating. highest ranking- #82 in fanfiction trailer by @sweetophelias all rights reserved to @derailedthoughts

"I'm distracted from the boy I've bumped into when the world around me begins to change. The grey and white I've seen ever since I was born into this world slowly begin to bleed away, like rain drops sliding down a car window, being replaced with bright, bright pigments. They cover everything, bring to life the world around me. The gravel underneath my feet is no longer a dull grey, the sky is no longer white, the bricks of the buildings no longer black. They're different, beautiful, bright, extraordinary, breathtaking. Colors, I realize. These are colors." x Natalie Grayson has lived her whole life in black and white. She's been waiting to meet her other half- her soulmate- who will make both of their worlds burst in color. It's what she's been dreaming of ever since she was little. She wants to know what color is, how it feels, what it looks like, if it's really as amazing as everyone claims it to be. On her seventeenth birthday, while walking back home through a sketchy part of town, she bumps into a stranger. Before she can even apologize, the last thing she expected happens: the black and white of her world begins to bleed away and is replaced with something else. Colors. When she looks up, Natalie isn't expecting to lock eyes with a rebel. But she does. She also doesn't expect him to run away. But he does.
