"Are you sure you don't want me to take you to school?" I ask her as I grabbed my handbag, phone and keys. "I'm sure," She smiles, reassuringly. The last few months have been hard for us. It was only us two left and I needed to make sure Melina was going to be safe. I couldn't let anything happen to her. She's still innocent in this messed up world we live in. I know she's found me a little overbearing the last few months but I couldn't help it. "So stop worrying so much and enjoy your day. Let me someone else's responsibility for a couple hours." I give her a small smile. "Fine but call or text me if anything happens." "You know me, I will." she gives me a quick hug before walking out the door. I follow her out, locking the door behind me. I watch her drive away before I started the walk to the town center. Today is the start of our first real day in Mystic Falls.
