It was the last day of school,Smalls and Benny were about to get out. Smalls and Benny always wanted to play baseball but never got a chance to. They finally got out of school and when they were running home and found a place called the sandlot. It was an old baseball stadium! They gathered up some friends and went to the sandlot. They were very bad at first but practiced and practiced and got good. They were very good. They had finally done what they had dreamed of! That knew they would have to go to the sandlot again so they went every day all summer! They felt very lucky that they had the sandlot because nobody else got it that wanted it so they were lucky.
