A five year old daughter named Melissa Henderson, is not faring well. Her father, John Henderson is a drunk abusive man. He is constantly beating on her mother, Alessa Henderson, or yelling at Melissa. When Alessa finally escaped him, she still didn't fare well. Melissa's mother was lost and replaced with a cruel abusive mom named Jessica Sanders. Melissa was terrified of her. Every day when she came home Jessica would yell and scream at her sometimes for no particular reason at all. School was the only escape she had. Melissa didn't have any friends and she had to walk to school alone. On a drizzly cloudy night she found a friend; it was a silver cat with one blue eye and one green. She named it Miracle, but this cat was no miracle. When Jessica found out, she would beat Melissa until she screamed just barely loud enough for the whole neighborhood to hear. Everyday she kept the cat, Melissa would suffer more abuse from her. On a really bad day, the cat left, wanting to protect Melissa from being abused. When Melissa told her Miracle was gone Jessica continued to abuse Melissa, not believing that the cat had left. She tries her best to survive the abuse, but every day she's getting weaker. Every day she gets closer to death.
