Penny Hale has a lot of items on her checklist before she leaves for college at the end of the summer. The sudden and unexpected return of her childhood, imaginary best friend is not one of them. Every culture has its own version of Cinderella, whether it features glass slippers and fairy godmothers, or enchanted trees and magic fish, the love story endures and goodness is always rewarded. But in this story, Ella has been replaced by Elliot and her beloved prince is a princess severely lacking in charm. Elliot's step-father expects him to work from dawn until dusk, leaving him no time to miss the life of happiness and comfort he once knew. When the rest of his family are invited to a series of balls, held in honour of the Princess Charmaine's return from school, Elliot longs for a night off and the opportunity to reconnect with his childhood friend. But his step-father is busy plotting how his own son can win Charmaine's heart and doesn't want Elliot getting in the way. They will soon discover that Charmaine won't be easily charmed. She doesn't need a husband to rule by her side and she's going to use these balls to prove it. That is, until a friend from her past reappears and she discovers that falling in love doesn't have to mean losing control. Princess Charming is a gender-reversal retelling of Cinderella and a companion story to Mirrored Snow.

Prelude... What happens after your first and only love leaves you for another guy? I thought we had the perfect life. I thought it was forever. But then she tells me she's met someone else. She tells me "it's me, not you" and breaks my heart. Slowly I spiral into a depression and lose my job, my money even my house. Life couldn't get any worse, right? Aria and Veronica are best friends. They grew up with the silver-spoon-syndrome with not a care in the world other than travelling and shopping around for sport. Bored with life they find themselves on the West Coast shopping in Seattle. Sitting outside a hipster coffee house they make a bet. The first street tramp that passes by them will be their 'fixer-upper' project. The girl who fails to make him into the most proper, eligible, GQ model has to donate all their clothes to the local thrift store. Talk about mean girls, right? Love comes softly and you can bet someone is the bulls-eye to cupid's love bug arrows... will it be the Bad Boy or the Millionaire? One of my favorite movies is "Pygmalion" by the infamous George Bernard Shaw. This short story has loosely evolved from my daydreams of a high roller life. Haha-- Zena. Oh. Please vote and comment on each chapter... please. KK.

It's 1939, and the world is at the precipice of war. But life for one young man in rural America couldn't be better. Jonathon Blackwell is the eldest son of the most powerful family in town and heir to Blackwell Iron and Mining. Unlike many who struggled to survive the final years of the Great Depression, he has everything he could ever want - except the one thing he desires most. Sheltered by class, privilege, and living inside a locked iron fence meant to protect him, no one could ever imagine anything terrible could happen to him, but dark times are coming. Fate is about to play it's cruel hand, and when it's all over, the world, the country, and young Jonathon will be changed forever. The much anticipated prequel to the 2014 Watty award winning and Wattpad featured story, The Boy in the Woods! This is Jonathon's story, and it just may break your heart... Best Ranking: Historical Fiction #4 Note: Even though this story takes place before events in The Boy in the Woods, it's intended to be read AFTER because it wraps up the last of the mysteries of that story. A gentle warning - many spoilers and much confusion lie ahead if you decide to start with this one. :)

When a semi-sentient starship loses its crew it must find a new one quickly. The nearest planet with intelligence is a small blue globe third out from its parent star. The ship, intelligence fading, kidnaps five humans from the mountains of the Appalachians and re-enters civilization. Unfortunately, said humans are questionably sentient and might not be the best ambassadors Earth could possibly have. When they are through nothing in the galaxy will be quite the same.
