❝ thoughts in motion of a perfect storm is chaos in its most serene form. ❞ what are we when the darkness embraces the sun? what are we when the century-old starlight touches the surface of our broken glass windows? what are we when the only thing that breaks the silence is the rhythm of ceaseless tick tocks from our alarm clocks? what are we when our eyelids fall yet the mind still wanders? what are we when we drown not in water but in our thoughts? Jas gives me a sympathetic look. She sighs heavily, long nails tapping against the wooden table, dodging the 'Missing' posters scattered all over the surface. "Maybe," she finally says, "Just maybe, he doesn't want to be found, Ava." I clench my jaw. "No. I refuse to believe that. He's not like that." "What do you know?" Jas snorts, finally withdrawing her hand from the table and turning back to look at me. "You don't even know him." xx Ford Wilson was in three out of four of Ava Jackson's classes. They had one mutual friend, did a project together once in sophomore year, and had the same lunch. When Ava's car had broke down, she had even ended up parked outside of Ford's house, asking for gas. In Ava's life, he was everywhere. And yet, she didn't notice him until he was nowhere to be found.

We're always drawn to something we can't have. I just happen to be drawn to a criminal, a man who is beyond the pale. "Mi Amor, put the knife down." His words were so calm and husky. They weren't suppose to arouse her. She was holding on to the butcher knife with her dear life. "How do you know where I live! You shouldn't be here." Her voice wobbled, the first sharp stab of anxiety hit her when he took a step towards her. Why was he here? She stared in fear at the man in front of her. His naked chest glistened with sweat, his body tight, muscly and toned. Mouth watering. In the dim light of her kitchen, her eyes managed to travel over the tattoos on his right peck and bicep. "I shouldn't, but I am." He gave a slow sexy smile at her as he put his hands up in surrender. Her eyes widened at the evident bulge that was restricted in his black sweat pants. "Get out!" Before she knew it, he had lunged at her. Her knife now at her throat. "Silencio." Book Cover by Createdforyou
