Cogito et Scribo berasal dari bahasa latin yang berarti, "Aku berpikir dan aku menulis" Sebagai seorang pelajar amatir ilmu menulis kreatif (creative writing), kalimat di atas adalah moto yang diterapkan seorang Faye. Kumpulan Ilmu dan Kiat menulis kreatif ini adalah kumpulan tulisan yang diharapkan dapat digunakan oleh setiap orang mencari tahu cara menulis tulisan yang dapat menarik perhatian pembaca. Perhatian: Irene Faye bukanlah seorang master story telling.
