NOT EDITED VERSION. Delilah got a huge responsibility on her shoulders at the age of 17 when her parents died. The responsibility: her seven year old sister, Alice. They don't know exactly how their parents died. All they knew was that their car exploded, but their bodies were never found, even after the fire was put out. Delilah thought that her life was simple -well as simple as it gets with a seven year old in your life- but what she didn't know was that people were looking for her. For both her and her sister. The mark that they bore behind their neck symbolized something bigger than what they thought was a simple birth mark. It symbolized mate. But more importantly, it meant that they could bare a child with no fertility problems. On the vampire world, fertility is a big problem. It's been thousands of years since a female has birthed a child that has been capable of passing down the vampire gene without being bitten or cursed (the worst and most painful possible way ever) or both mother and infant dying. So finding a female with the mark is like finding your own personal treasure. When Delilah meets her hot new neighbor and finds out he's a werewolf -not just any werewolf but the most powerful Alpha King- will they be mates? Or will she be mates to one of the many vampires and help solve the thousand year old problem? Cover made by @bubblygummii Mark is supposed to be behind neck, so please don't judge the cover. I love it ❤️

It was an unspoken law since as long as anyone could remember- never show the names to a soul. Because they were your greatest hope and your deepest weakness. The one who would steal your heart, and the one that would stop it. Only problem is, there was no way of knowing which one was which. The Nemesis Syndrome and the Soulmate Syndrome turned from something pure, something to find the love of your life into something darker, something the government could bring money from and keep the population from booming. It seems that the world never prepared Eliza or Leo for the possibility of the same name being on both wrists. (Trigger warnings: mental illnesses are mentioned and there is a scene where a panic attack is described, said panic attack is in chapter 41, but any mention of mental illness is mostly fleeting and not in any great detail.)

** Wattpad Featured Story!** A young girl arouses the wrath of an ancient Scottish water spirit who takes her brother's soul in revenge. To save him Brigid must journey through the Shadow realm, begging help and proving herself to each of the totem animal spirits of Britain. Steeped in British mythology and animal lore, The Shadowkeeper is a modern fairy tale written with animation in mind but could also be live action/CGI - lots of CGI! Author's Note: Back in 2005, The Shadowkeeper came heartbreakingly close to being sold to major production companies thanks to good showing in the three screenwriting competitions I submitted to*. A whirlwind trip to Hollywood for an awards night followed by meetings with managers and production companies had my little heart singing (literally one night, at an Etta James concert at the Hollywood Bowl!) Then reality hit. All of the feedback I received was the same: We love it but there's no audience for adventure stories with a female protagonist, change Brigid to a boy and we'll negotiate. Call me stubborn (the two managers offering me representation did) but I didn't think that was a legitimate "note", I thought it was simple sexism and I refused. Since then, The Shadowkeeper has been in the proverbial drawer but I love Brigid, I think she's a badass little eight year old and I've never given up on her. It's now ten years later and the attitude to female protagonists appears to be changing so I'm thinking of submitting The Shadowkeeper again but first I thought I'd pop it up here and see what Wattpadders think. If you like it, I do hope you'll vote and/or comment to let me know whether you'd like to see it on the screen! Happy reading! Darcy. *Competition Results: Finalist, ScriptP.I.M.P.
