Let's get the facts straight. I am no heroine and I will never bring pride to my family. I am what you could call a failure. My grades? Average. My social life? Average. Talents? Hmm... well, I think I have none. I'm not exceptional in any way and I know I'm a disappointment for my father. And in this day and age there's no way I could just take my father's place to save him from a horrible fate.  There is a huge weight on my shoulders but I can't carry it no matter how hard I try. I have no idea what I can do, I only know what I can't do. Yet I still would try anything to make my father proud, even just once. Oh right, I forgot to tell you whom I was name after. Yes, I was named after Mulan, that bright heroine who saved China and brought pride to her family. Talk about big expectations. But Mulan doesn't suit me, so it's just Ann. -:-:- BOOK #4 in the Aware Princess Series flower: Peony, it symbolises "Prosperity, honor (in China)."

Or so she says. But Oliver is determined to let her see the true beauty of city and that a single place could keep a girl like Helene utterly and deeply satisfied. With only a month to impress the critical and mystifying Helene, Oliver must try to convince Helene of all the great things his hometown of New York City holds, even if it means losing her to her instinct of running away.

A/N: This is an unedited, significantly different version of the soon to be published novel by losangelesque aka L. Akhter. This draft was written when I was 15-18 years old and I highly encourage new readers to read the published version instead. Former high school football star Frank Novak meets profound and depressed loner Lolita Abri - and falls headfirst into love. Throughout the course of one school year, they unravel each other and their sadness, setting apart their differences and realizing that sometimes love isn't enough - and sometimes it just might be. ❝ you're like one of my gratifying afternoon naps: a very promising one, beseeching myself to have a concise break, but then later fathoming I collapsed to slumber wholly, without having the prospect to detain it; it may neither be crucial nor mandatory, but it would ceaselessly be idiosyncratically substantial. ❞

So how does Imogen react when she finds out that she’ll be stuck in a corner shop with him for ten whole days? Will the two of them get on? Or will it all be one huge disaster?
