I was in Biology 101 when the sirens went off. We were herded in single file to the buses that escorted us to the loading docks twenty miles away. Once there, I got dislocated from my group and watched as they boarded the space pod I was meant to be on. Several minutes later, airborne and on their way to space, the white pod exploded into a ball of flame and ash. Lost in the whims of guilt and relief, I joined another group on a separate pod. Ten minutes later, I looked down upon the Blue Planet for what could very well be the last time. It was not sorrow that I felt for her, but fear. De-ac-ti-vated tells the story of how Earth perished and its inhabitants were forced to flee into the black unknown of space. But leaving Earth was only the beginning. No one could have fathomed what the deep black of the cosmos held for them. Highest Ranking: #62 Sci-fi (02/11/2017) I want to thank @kario12 for a great cover design. Your skill is breathtaking and I love working with you. I would also like to thank Tobias Roetsch for the lovely artwork we were allowed to use. Your talent is superb!!! The sequel to 'Patient 1543'! Read to continue the 1543 Series! Two years after 'Patient 1543' ends, a man named Harry Mel starts working at Mansfield Mental Hospital. Another psychiatrist --John Malcom -- feels greatly uncomfortable around him. Something about those ice blue eyes makes Malcom terrified. After Tim Durnell, one of Malcolm patients, reacts with terror to Mel's mere presence, Malcom becomes curious about Mel's past and identity. After all, you may know someone's name but that isn't their identity; who they are, what they do, how they act, that is their identity. After an apparent suicide in the ward, Malcom believes that there is much more to Mel than meets the eye -- especially his ice blue ones. * * * In 'Psychiatrist' Michael Hall continues the story of Patient 1543, answering more questions, and telling readers more of the terrifying true identity of 1543 and just how far his evil spreads.

Harry Mel is a recently divorced psychiatrist, who has been working for twelve years at Scranton Mental Asylum. In his years, he'd never before had a patient who had intense homicidal tendencies, nor had he treated a patient who had intense an impulsion to commit violence against other; but even if he had it would've never prepared him for his new patient. A patient who was transferred from Palmerton Mental Hospital, who has the body reminisce of someone who survived a Nazi concentration camp. A patient with no past, and no identity; a patient that is only identified by four numbers: 1543. A patient with unnatural icy blue eyes, and supernatural powers; a patient who is more than he seems. * * * In Patient 1543, Michael Hall sets the profile for his writing and his stylistic tendencies. Using potent horror and incredibly detailed descriptions, Michael paints his picture of terror and horror. In Michael's opinion this is one of the best stories he's written to date.

Something waits for him in the darkness. Since he woke up on a mortuary slab in Victorian London's East End, Leland has been on the run trying to stay ahead of the demon darkness, and trying to make sense of the jumble in his head. Who is he? Why is this happening to him? How are the gaslights in the street both a modern convenience and terribly antiquated to him at the same tome? Nothing seems right, nothing fits. Now he stands at the end of a pier in some Northwestern fishing village and there is nowhere left to run. The answers are catching up to him, but so is the darkness.

WARNING: CONTAINS GRAPHIC HORROR & DEPICTIONS OF ADULT SEXUAL SITUATIONS THAT ARE LIKELY TO BE DISTURBING TO SOME. DEFINITELY NOT FOR THE FAINT OF HEART. READER DISCRETION IS STRONGLY ADVISED. -- "I, Death is a death rattle coming of age story; it is a song, and it is the world's funniest dirty joke - all rolled into one." - Steve Vernon, author of RESURRECTION, FIGHTING WORDS and MARITIME MURDER. -- Peter O’Mallick isn’t just having a bad day; he’s having a bad life. It’s bad enough when your girlfriend suddenly casts you a cold shoulder, your grades are slipping and those around you no longer understand what it’s like to walk in your shoes; but walking around with the innate power to end lives—something Peter begins to realize he has had since birth—takes the angst to a whole new level. And Hamlet thought he had it bad. Encouraged by his guidance counselor, the suicidal seventeen year old begins to blog about his experiences in order to try to understand this power and himself. The self-directed therapy helps, and strangers who follow his online story virtually befriend him, as it appears that his curse is mostly limited to those he is in close contact with. However, there is one stranger secretly following his story who isn’t there to understand, help or cheer him on; just as Peter begins to understand that being born as a harbinger for death might actually be a blessing rather than a curse, this stranger is intent on finding a way to use Peter’s power for nefarious purposes.
