An AU that takes place in the 1950's. Gilbert and Roderich have been having a secret relationship for quite some time, but because of social pressure and his own fear of being found out, Roderich decides to break it off and marries their friend Elizaveta, telling himself that it's the best for both of them. However, it turns out that by doing so he might have hurt Gilbert much, much worse than he'd intended.

This is a one shot for the pairing PruAus (Prussia and Austria) from Hetalia. I'm using their human names, Gilbert and Roderich (respectively) because they flow a bit easier. Well, to me anyway. Kinda based on a headcanon I have for these two. It's something I've had in mind for awhile. I think I might've mentioned it in an RP I did on my Austria blog...maybe. Anywho-- I hope you like it.
